Malta is a small group of islands located in the Mediterranean Sea. Malta has a rich history and has been influenced by many of the surrounding cultures over the course of time. Eating and Drinking

If you are looking for a relaxing time sitting back and doing some people watching, then Malta has the perfect answer in all of its cafes around the island. Enjoy some good coffee and food with some stunning views and very hospitable locals. Why not come to Marsaxlokk in the south of the main island and try some of the local freshly caught seafood? There are cafes and restaurants here which have some of the freshest food available and is the perfect setting for a meal. You can enjoy the picturesque scene of the fishing boats bobbing around in this quaint little village while you enjoy your meal. If it is something a bit livelier that you are looking for, then try going to St Julian’s. It has more pubs and clubs which are the party destination of the island. Why not try going to the club called “Level 22” on the 22nd floor of Portomaso Tower which has all the drinking and dancing, and offers a 360° panoramic view of the city. If you time your trip right, you can also take in one of the many festivals which go on around the islands and really take in some of the local ambience and hospitality.

Some of the Sights

If you appreciate your history, then you can try going to the “silent city” of Mdina. This was the medieval capital of Malta and is a labyrinth of narrow streets, you shall feel like you are stepping back in time. There are no cars allowed in the city which is where it gets its nickname from, you may have to watch out for the odd horse and cart though on some of the bigger lanes. If you are looking to treat yourself, then there is an assortment of Spas available as well. There are day spas and resorts offering a couple of days and nights so you can truly emerge yourself in a pampered and luxurious retreat. You may also want to try taking the ferry trip to Gozo, which has a wild and rugged coastline with long sandy beaches. While you are there, you can visit the 5000 year old Ggantija Temples. On the way to Gozo, you can also stop off and go for a dive in the clear azure waters of the Blue Lagoon. If this is all too much for you though, you can just laze on the beach to top up your tan or go for a swim in the sea.
